Ciryl Gane is set to clash with two-weight champion Alex Pereira in the co-headliner of UFC Freedom 250 at the White House on June 14. Speaking about the matchup in a recent interview, Gane has stated that he is not underestimating Pereira and is treating him as a real heavyweight.
‘Poatan’ has always been massive at middleweight and light heavyweight. However, the jump from 205 to 265 pounds is significant. Recent behind-the-scenes photos suggest that he has added considerable size ahead of his heavyweight debut.

That said, it remains to be seen whether he can carry over his devastating knockout power against the bigger, stronger athletes competing in the UFC’s heavyweight division. Drawing a comparison to Jon Jones’ move up to heavyweight, the Frenchman weighed in on Pereira’s chances and said:
“Same way as Jon Jones came to heavyweight. I didn’t say to myself, ‘he’s a fake heavyweight.’ I consider my opponent to be a real heavyweight.”

Can Ciryl Gane Finally Capture UFC Gold against Alex Pereira?
‘Bon Gamin’ faced Tom Aspinall at UFC 321 in his most recent outing. However, the bout was ruled a no-contest after Aspinall was unable to continue following an accidental eye poke in the opening round. Before this, Gane has fought Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones for the 265-pound belt but fell short both times.
After failing to win the belt on three previous occasions, Gane looks like a man on a mission as he gears up to crush Pereira’s three-weight champion dreams at the biggest stage.
