Ilia Topuria has prepared a special white rose for Justin Gaethje ahead of UFC Freedom 250 headliner.

UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria has fired a warning to Justin Gaethje ahead of their UFC Freedom 250 bout at the White House on June 14.

Topuria is heading into the bout on the back of consecutive knockout wins against Alexander Volkanovski, Max Holloway, and Charles Oliveira. Meanwhile, Gaethje secured a dominant unanimous decision win against rising contender Paddy Pimblett to grab the interim lightweight title in his last outing at UFC 324. He is now gearing up to face ‘El Matador’ in the hope of securing undisputed UFC gold.

Both Topuria and Gaethje have engaged in constant back-and-forths on social media in the build-up to their fight. ‘The Highlight’ has pointed out Topuria’s arrogant mindset and also compared the Georgian-Spaniard to the likes of Conor McGregor. Topuria has now hit back at Gaethje with a chilling response. He said:

“Justin has the same speech as my previous rivals, saying he’s going to teach me a lesson in humility and put me in my place because I’m super arrogant. But we’re going to bring him some calm anesthesia.”

Justin Gaethje Reveals Game Plan for Ilia Topuria Clash

In a recent interview with Jon Anik, Justin Gaethje pointed out that many of Topuria’s previous opponents made the mistake of fighting off the back foot, only to eventually get caught by one of his combinations. Despite the 29-year-old’s devastating knockout power, Gaethje revealed that he plans to apply constant pressure and force Topuria onto the back foot instead. He said:

“They [Ilia Topuria’s past opponents who got knocked out] got compromised. They got put on the back foot; they got put on their heels on a second shot when he was in the middle of a five-punch combination. That is something that I cannot do. I will move forward in this fight… If that puts me into more dangerous positions, then I have to do that still. And this is how I will fight this fight.”
