Conor McGregor has heard every version of the narrative working against him heading into UFC 329.
Five years away from the sport, a devastating leg break against Dustin Poirier in 2021 that raised genuine questions about whether he would ever compete again.
A UFC 303 pullout against Michael Chandler due to a pinky toe injury that he chose not to push through, as he refused to enter the octagon when he was not a 100%. None of it has landed the way his critics hoped, and McGregor made that clear in no uncertain terms today.

Conor McGregor Believes the 5 Year Hiatus Was Actually an Advantage
While the rest of the division has been grinding through fight camps and absorbing punishment year after year, Conor McGregor spent that time healing, rebuilding, and by his own account, arriving at a place his opponents simply cannot match right now. During a recent interview with UFC on Paramount, the 37-year-old said that after his “rest period,” he feels rejuvenated and is entering his prime:
“I feel a lot more fresher than these opponents. I’ve had my time of rest, and I feel I’m coming into my prime now. I am entering my prime and now and forever, and that is my mindset going in here.”
Max Holloway, the “Busy Body,” Will Be “Sonned” at UFC 329, says “The Notorious”
Comor McGregor has taken direct aim at Max Holloway’s approach heading into this rematch. While “Blessed” has remained active and continued fighting at an elite level, ‘The Notorious’ views that constant activity as a liability rather than a strength, suggesting Holloway will arrive at UFC 329 carrying accumulated wear that he will not have after years of proper rest and recovery.
Conor McGregor Is Not Alone in This Assessment
This conviction extends well beyond McGregor’s own camp. BKFC president David Feldman had previously stated that McGregor looks better than he ever has. Longtime friend and training partner Dillon Danis has delivered the exact same verdict.
Three voices saying the same thing without contradiction are worth taking seriously before July 11.
