Paddy Pimblett has fired another shot at Ilia Topuria ahead of his UFC 329 co-main event against Benoit Saint-Denis.
Pimblett and Topuria have traded words for years, and the rivalry came up again during fight week. The Scouser was asked about the damage he suffered in his last outing against Justin Gaethje, before comparing it to Topuria’s own defeat to ‘The Highlight’.
‘The Baddy’ claimed the visible damage on his face after the Gaethje fight came from an eye poke rather than clean strikes. He said:
“All the damage on my face was from an eye poke right hand, it wasn’t just an eye poke lad I felt a thumb touch my brain.”
“Did Ilia get poked? I don’t think he got poked lad, he just got his face mashed up. I’ll punch his little head in for him.”

Paddy Pimblett Claims Ilia Topuria Was “Mashed Up” by Justin Gaethje
Both Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria are coming off difficult fights against Gaethje. Pimblett was left badly marked up after his meeting with the newly crowned lightweight champion, while Topuria suffered the first loss of his professional career at UFC Freedom 250 after taking heavy damage before the bout was stopped after Round 4.

The comments keep the Pimblett-Topuria rivalry active, but Pimblett has a major test in front of him first. He faces Saint-Denis this weekend in the UFC 329 co-headliner, with the winner expected to move closer to the top of the lightweight division.
‘God of War‘ brings pressure, grappling, and a finishing threat, making him an immediate danger for Pimblett. But if the Scouser gets past the Frenchman, a future fight with Topuria could become a serious option.
For now, Pimblett’s focus has to be Saint-Denis. The potential Topuria fight only matters if he wins at UFC 329.
