Islam Makhachev has revealed that he has not listened to music in nearly a decade, but the UFC welterweight champion does make time for television, with Peaky Blinders among the shows he has watched.
During a recent conversation with streamer Adin Ross, Makhachev was asked about his relationship with music. The Dagestani star revealed that he completely avoids listening to songs and has done so for around 10 years.
“Honestly, last 10 years, I don’t listen zero music.”
The revelation offers another glimpse into the disciplined lifestyle that has helped Makhachev establish himself as one of the UFC’s elite fighters. While music is a major part of many fighters’ routines, particularly when preparing for fights or walking out to the Octagon, Makhachev appears to have little interest in it.
Interestingly, despite his strict approach to music, Makhachev revealed that he does watch television. Peaky Blinders, the popular British crime drama starring Cillian Murphy, is apparently one of the shows that has caught his attention.
For Makhachev, however, his entertainment choices appear to remain secondary to his demanding training and fighting career.
