The Anthony Smith case has taken an even more serious turn with new details emerging about the full sequence of events that led to his arrest in Nebraska.

Anthony Smith was reportedly kicked out of a concert earlier in the evening following an altercation before the situation escalated further at a bar in Gretna, Nebraska. It was there that he allegedly threatened to kill his wife if she did not leave with him, before physically grabbing her and forcing her into their vehicle.
The Threats and the Vehicle Attack by Anthony Smith
During the drive home, Anthony Smith’s wife Mikhala Smith reportedly attempted to escape the vehicle. According to investigators, Smith then attempted to hit her with the car multiple times as she fled. She was able to avoid being struck on each attempt and escaped physical injury. The Sarpy County Attorney’s Office confirmed these details in a statement to MMA Junkie following Smith’s initial court appearance.
The situation deteriorated further at their home, where witnesses reported hearing gunshots. Law enforcement responded, and Smith allegedly threatened to kill himself if officers attempted to enter the property, adding another deeply serious dimension to an already alarming sequence of events.
Where Things Stand
‘Lionheart’ turned himself in after a warrant was issued and appeared before a judge, where he was granted a $500,000 bond on the condition he has no contact with his wife whatsoever and cannot leave Nebraska without permission. He also must avoid any further legal trouble.
The former UFC fighter faces three felony charges, including first-degree domestic assault, terroristic threats, and first-degree false imprisonment.
He is due back in court on August 17 and has not made any public statement. He is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
