Tsarukyan arrives as the reigning Hype FC champion with a submission grappling record of five wins and one draw across six matches, featuring finishes over the likes of Muhammad Mokaev, Benson Henderson, and Patricky ‘Pitbull’ Freire. He is one of the most dangerous grapplers in MMA regardless of ruleset, and August 1 will serve as a title defence on the grappling stage.

Ankit Baiyanpuria, on the other side, has built one of India’s most recognisable fitness platforms through an authentic online presence rooted in traditional desi culture and wrestling. He hails from a small village in Haryana’s Sonipat district, rose to nationwide fame after documenting his 75 Hard Challenge on Instagram and inspiring millions with his disciplined fitness journey.

Since then, he has continued to push his limits by training at world-class combat sports gyms, first in Thailand and now in Dagestan, the home of some of the greatest MMA fighters. However, with reports claiming that Baiyanpuria has now turned 27, some fans believe he may be too old to seriously pursue a professional MMA career, while others argue that with the right training and dedication, he still has plenty of time to make an impact inside the cage. his wrestling background gives him at least a foundation to work from against an elite-level opponent.

The face-off generated the kind of attention that crosses over from fight fans into mainstream Indian social media, which is precisely what makes this event significant beyond the competitive result.

‘Ahalkalakets’ is the heavy favourite on the mat. Baiyanpuria is the draw that fills the room. On August 1, both of those things matter equally.
