Conor McGregor is not done. Still facing surgery on the knee he injured just 69 seconds into his UFC 329 comeback against Max Holloway, McGregor took to social media on Friday to answer fan questions and made his final UFC fight target crystal clear. No ambiguity, no wavering, just one name.

Conor McGregor Points Directly at Max Holloway
“It has to be Holloway.”
The fight lasted 69 seconds before McGregor’s right knee gave way on his first kick attempt. He has already gone on record stating the result should be changed to a no-contest, and the desire to get a proper ending to this rivalry is clearly consuming him during what is an incredibly difficult period.
The trilogy argument is understandable given the circumstances, but the path to making it happen is far from straightforward.
Dana White Is Not Making Any Promises
Dana White was asked about Conor McGregor’s trilogy request directly and shut it down without hesitation. White told Spinnin Backfist on Friday:
“Not even thinking about it. Conor still has to have knee surgery and go through everything he’s going to have to go through. I understand he’s very unhappy with the way shit played out, but you’re a human being, you’re older, you haven’t fought in five years and Father Time is undefeated. So who the f*ck knows what’s going to happen with Max over the next year and what’s going to happen with Conor over the next year?”
If McGregor’s injury is an ACL tear as widely speculated, the recovery window sits between nine and twelve months minimum. The exact extent of the damage has still not been officially confirmed. ‘Blessed’ walked away completely unscathed and cannot reasonably be expected to sit idle waiting for ‘The Notorious’ to heal, which makes White’s reluctance to commit to anything entirely logical regardless of what the Irishman wants.
On a positive note, Holloway is ready to wait until 2027 for Conor McGregor:
“We gotta run it back one more time. One more time for the boys.”
