Conor McGregor References Pereira’s Loss to Ciryl Gane

Alex Pereira last competed at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, where he suffered a knockout loss to the newly crowned interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane in a historic superfight.

Following the defeat, controversy emerged regarding the finishing sequence, with many fans pointing to several strikes that appeared to land to the back of Pereira’s head. Team Pereira also voiced frustrations after the event, although the result ultimately remained unchanged.

Conor McGregor appeared to acknowledge those concerns during his backstage conversation with ‘Poatan’, while also encouraging him to move on from the setback.

The exchange highlighted the mutual respect between two of the UFC’s biggest stars.

Pereira remains one of the promotion’s most accomplished active fighters, having captured titles at both middleweight and light heavyweight while earning notable victories over Israel Adesanya, Jiří Procházka, Jamahal Hill and Jan Błachowicz.

McGregor, meanwhile, is preparing for his long-awaited return against Max Holloway in the UFC 329 main event. ‘The Notorious‘ successfully weighed in at 170.5 pounds ahead of Saturday night’s welterweight rematch in Las Vegas.

McGregor’s message was simple: acknowledge the controversy, but focus on what comes next.
