Former two-weight champion Conor McGregor is gearing up for his highly anticipated UFC return against Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11. During a recent interview, McGregor shared his thoughts on the upcoming matchup.

The bout will mark the end of a five-year hiatus for ‘The Notorious’, who has not fought since suffering a serious injury in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021.

Meanwhile, ‘Blessed’ has remained at the top of his game and even defeated UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje in a BMF title showdown.

McGregor and Holloway first locked horns in a featherweight bout in 2013, where the Irishman won by unanimous decision. Nearly 16 years later, the two fighters will clash again, this time at 170 pounds.

During his sit-down with Paramount, McGregor stated that he has not seen major improvements in Holloway’s game since their first bout. He said:

“I sonned Max when I fought him last, and I plan on doing the same again in more devastating fashion.”

In the same interview, Conor McGregor has also shared his thoughts on how his upcoming bout against Max Holloway will play out. ‘The Notorious’ has confidence in his power and has vowed to deliver a “spectacular” finish in the UFC 329 headliner. He said:

“It’s gonna be a demolotion. It’s gonna be an absolute demolition. I know the damage he’s taken. I know I will just have to touch him. And after that, it will be clinical.

A win alone is not just enough- it must be spectacular. And that it will be.”

Despite years of inactivity, McGregor remains one of the biggest names in combat sports. He is a sizeable underdog heading into his upcoming bout, but a statement win over Holloway could immediately push him back into the title picture.
