Despite the situation, Strickland attended the presser and was swarmed by fans after the police asked him to take off his hoodie. The 35-year-old later addressed the incident on social media, stating (h/t Home of Fight on X):

“You guys, boys in blue, just saved my life. We almost d**d.

These cops came up to me and told me to take off my hoodie. I take my hoodie off, and they shone a flashlight in my face. All of a sudden, the crowd forms and I just take the f**k off.”
