Anshul Jubli is closing in on his next UFC appearance. Speaking with streamer N3on, the Indian UFC lightweight revealed that he’s planning to fight in December, giving fans their first real timeline for his return since dealing with injuries earlier this year.
Anshul Jubli’s Elite Vegas Training Camp Ahead of His Return
The timeline comes after months of Anshul Jubli living and training outside India, based out of the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas. He was first spotted training with former bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili before later sharing the mats with two-time UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland. The session with Strickland went viral after the champion came away genuinely impressed, saying Jubli was “tapping all of us out” and praising his grappling. Strickland has since said he plans to bring Jubli into his own training camp, a notable show of support for a fighter still chasing his first UFC win.
Anshul Jubli’s 0-2 UFC Start and the Debated Quillan Salkilld Stoppage
That first win remains the goal for a reason. Jubli enters this stretch 0-2 inside the Octagon, dropping his promotional debut to Mike Breeden by third-round knockout in October 2023 despite reportedly leading on the scorecards through the first two rounds. His most recent outing was even shorter, a 19-second knockout loss to Australian prospect Quillan Salkilld at UFC 312 in February. That finish drew real debate among fans and analysts, with many arguing the stoppage came too early and that Jubli hadn’t been given a fair chance to recover or intelligently defend himself before the referee stepped in.
What a December Fight Would Mean for Anshul Jubli
Anshul Jubli has also spent part of this year recovering from neck and nose injuries, which pushed his return further back than originally planned. With that recovery reportedly complete and a high-level training camp behind him, a December fight would give Jubli his first opportunity since the Salkilld loss to finally get on the board. No opponent has been officially confirmed yet, though a previously rumored matchup against Team Khabib’s Magomed Zaynukov had circulated earlier this year without ever being made official. For now, all eyes are on whether the UFC locks in a date and opponent to match Jubli’s own December target.
