Bryce Mitchell has never been shy about sharing his flat Earth beliefs, and now he says he’s got the smoking gun. Unfortunately for the ‘Thug Nasty’ theory, the smoking gun appears to be, well, just the moon doing what the moon normally does.

“The sun is directly behind me, but look the moon is visible too on a perfect day like today. The moon has a flat line drawn through it, you cannot debunk that you globe Earthers!” Mitchell said. “You need to accept that moon is illuminary and something very strange is happening for it to have a flat shadow.”
The Problem With Bryce Mitchell’s “Evidence”
What Bryce Mitchell is describing is the terminator line, the boundary between the illuminated and shadowed portions of the moon, a phenomenon that’s been documented, photographed, and explained by basic astronomy for centuries. It shows up because the moon is a sphere being lit from one direction by the sun, not because Earth is a pancake. Seeing it “on a perfect day” doesn’t change the physics; it just means the sky was clear.
Mitchell has been outspoken about flat Earth theory for years now, previously citing everything from horizon lines to personal “research” as proof that mainstream science has it wrong. The trouble is that flat Earth claims have been repeatedly and thoroughly disproven, from satellite imagery to circumnavigation to the simple fact that ships disappear hull-first over the horizon. Astronomers, physicists, and basically anyone who’s looked through a telescope have long settled this one.
Still, Mitchell remains committed to the bit, moon shadows and all, giving fans yet another reason to bring up flat Earth every time.
