Indian lightweight prospect Owais Yaqoob delivered the biggest victory of his professional career by stopping Bulgaria’s Delyan Georgiev via first-round TKO at BRAVE CF 107 in Burgas, Bulgaria.
The win came against one of Europe’s most highly regarded young prospects, with Georgiev entering the contest unbeaten as a professional and training alongside former UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria at Climent Club.
Yaqoob wasted little time imposing his game. Georgiev initially looked to establish his wrestling, but the Indian quickly defended the early pressure before taking control on the feet. A clean left hand stunned the Bulgarian, allowing Yaqoob to swarm with a barrage of punches against the fence.
The referee stepped in to halt the contest in the opening round, handing Georgiev the first defeat of his professional career.

Team Khabib vs. Team Topuria storyline adds significance
The matchup carried added intrigue beyond the records of both fighters.
Owais Yaqoob has spent the past year sharpening his skills under Javier Mendez at American Kickboxing Academy, where he trains alongside members of Team Khabib.
Georgiev, meanwhile, is a regular training partner of Topuria at Climent Club. BRAVE CF promoted the bout as another chapter in the growing rivalry between Team Khabib and Team Topuria, making Yaqoob’s dominant performance a statement result on the international stage.
The victory also continues Yaqoob’s impressive run in BRAVE Combat Federation. Before BRAVE CF 107, the Indian lightweight had already recorded consecutive first-round finishes over Ian Paul Lora and Mehmet Can Taşdöven, performances that earned him BRAVE CF’s 2025 Breakout Fighter of the Year award. Georgiev, a two-time IMMAF World Champion, was widely viewed as Yaqoob’s toughest test to date.

With another first-round stoppage over an undefeated international prospect, Yaqoob has further cemented his status as India’s leading MMA prospect. The 28-year-old continues to build momentum against increasingly higher levels of competition, and his latest performance at BRAVE CF 107 is likely to strengthen calls for the UFC to take notice as he continues his ascent through the lightweight ranks.
