Former two-division UFC champion Ilia Topuria has made his first public appearance since his UFC Freedom 250 loss to Justin Gaethje at the White House.
Topuria endured a brutal night against Gaethje, who drew blood early and caused significant damage to his right eye. As the fight progressed, the damage worsened, leaving ‘El Matador’ compromised in both eyes and visibly struggling to see.
By the end of Round 4, Topuria was unable to continue, forcing his corner to wave off the bout. Gaethje’s relentless offence had left the Georgian-Spaniard badly battered and almost unrecognisable. As a result, Topuria’s 17-fight MMA win streak was halted, and ‘The Highlight’ was crowned the undisputed lightweight champion for the first time in his career.

A viral photo has now surfaced showing Topuria enjoying a meal with family and friends. In the image, the 29-year-old is wearing dark sunglasses indoors. His facial wounds appear to be healing well, though the sunglasses suggest there may still be visible bruising around his eyes.
