Paddy Pimblett has shared his thoughts on Andoni Iraola replacing Arne Slot as the manager of Liverpool Football Club.
Pimblett, a lifelong Liverpool fan, was critical of Slot throughout their forgettable 2025-26 campaign. During a recent interview, the Scouser said appointing Iraola before the start of the new season was the wiser decision, rather than bringing in a new manager midway through the campaign. He said:
“I think it was time. Slot, I looked to me like he had lost the dressing room. Didn’t look like anyone really wanted to play for him, and everyone had lost belief. A lot of people were saying that he’d stay for the first part of the season, but you might as well get rid [of him] and get a new manager in for a fresh start. Because if you have a bad start to next season and you sack him [in] October-November, you’re struggling even worse. So I think it’s better. Iraola’s style of football is more suited to Liverpool, and I think he’ll do well.”

When asked about whether Iraola will face a smooth transition to Merseyside, ‘The Baddy’ said:
“Well, I’m always very overconfident. I’m always a believer. So, I think he’ll take over, and he’ll do very well. He was Bournemouth’s manager and [they] came sixth with limited resources. He’ll have tenfold the amount of resources [at Liverpool] than he had at Bournemouth. I can see him being a big success.”

Paddy Pimblett Predicts Early Finish Against Benoit Saint-Denis Ahead of UFC 329 Co-Main Event
Paddy Pimblett is set to clash with Benoit Saint-Denis in the co-main event of UFC 329 on July 11.
The Liverpudlian tasted defeat for the first time in his UFC career against Justin Gaethje in January when the two fought for the interim 155-pound strap.
However, “The Baddy” appears to be oozing confidence and is targeting an early finish against the Frenchman, who is riding a four-fight win streak. Speaking about his upcoming bout, Pimblett stated why he will return to winning ways next month:
“I respect Benoit Saint-Denis. I think he’s very intense. He comes forward and tries to finish fights. He has never gone past the second round, but he is not going to get past the second round with me. I’ve got cleaner striking than him, I’m a better grappler, and I’ve got better cardio. I don’t see where he could beat me, to be honest.”
